Welcome to ASCEND

A School Cultivating Excellence and Nurturing Diversity

ASCEND is a free TK–8 public charter school in Oakland serving students from ages 4 to 13. We are part of the Education for Change Public Schools network and proud to call East Oakland home. Here, students think critically, express creatively, and grow confidently — supported by a caring community and a curriculum that reflects who they are and where they come from. At ASCEND, it all starts with purpose, partnership, and access.
Take a closer look at what makes our school special.

Our Vision & Habits

Who We Are. How We Grow.
